General Info
There is an Anycubic Photon Resin SLA 3D printer at the Hackspace. This is a printer with a very small build volume but capable of extremely fine detail.
Be aware the resin used in SLA printing is highly toxic in its uncured state and contact with skin or eyes may cause irreversible long term health problems. You must wear impermeable nitrile (not latex) gloves, a face mask and eye protection at all times when handling the printer, resin or prints until fully cured and all uncured resin has been removed. In the unlikely event you ingest any, contact a hospital and take the resin bottle with health warnings with you.
Be aware prints may take many hours to complete and you should never leave the printer unattended. Please take this into account when planning a print.

Using the Anycubic Photon
The Anycubic Photon is accessible to all members following a specific SLA Resin printing induction or demonstration of existing knowledge of the process. Please do not try and use the printer without this, not only is the resin toxic, the printer is fragile and the printing vat film easily damaged.
Powering on and accessing the printer
Insert your USB stick containing your 'sliced' file before switching the printer on. The Anycubic Photon has an on/off switch on the right hand side of the printer. The printer is controlled through the front panel touchscreen.
Slicing for printing
In common with most 3D printers, you must convert your 3D design file (STL, 3MF etc.) into a set of commands specific to the type of machine you wish to print on. For the Anycubic Photon, this is "Anycubic Photon Slicer", installed on the computers in the PC Lab (TBC).
Copy the sliced filed to your USB stick and carefully insert it into the socket on the printer before switching on the printer.
