Bambu X1C

Overview

We have two Bambu X1C 3D printers in the space, each fitted with a 4-channel Automatic Material System (AMS). The X1C is a modern CoreXY FDM printer capable of very high print speeds (up to ~500 mm/s) with advanced features like dual automatic bed leveling and on-board LiDAR first layer inspection for improved reliability and surface quality.

Features

  • High-Performance CoreXY Motion System – Fast acceleration with stable and precise movement.
  • Advanced Sensing – Dual auto bed leveling and a LiDAR sensor help ensure consistent first layers and reliable prints.
  • Wide Material Support – Compatible with a broad range of filaments, including engineering and reinforced materials.
  • AMS (Automatic Material System) – Each printer is equipped with a 4-channel AMS unit that holds and feeds four separate filaments, enabling multi-colour or multi-material prints without manual filament swaps.

AMS Details

The Automatic Material System expands the X1C’s capability by allowing up to four different filaments to be loaded simultaneously. The AMS automatically switches between filaments during a print, purging the previous filament and feeding the next as needed, which makes complex or multi-colour prints more efficient.
